Take a little break from the waterfront activities and visit Downtown Petoskey while you are at the Festival and search for Treasures from the Shores to the Stores.

Enter the "Treasures in Petoskey" drawing. Use our Downtown Treasure Map  to shop Downtown Stores. Turn your receipts from Downtown Petoskey merchants into an opportunity to win! Collect receipts from purchases made on August 20 and 21 at any Downtown Petoskey business listed in the Treasure Map guide, show those receipts at the designated location at the Festial, and if they total $100 or more, you can enter into a drawing to win a treasure chest of prizes from Downtown businesses. Look for the "Treasures in Petoskey" headquarters at the Festival on the Bay and add the chance to win to your weekend.

The Downtown Petoskey Festival Farmers Market will be held on Friday from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm on Howard Street between Julienne Tomatoes and JC Penney's. Taste the local difference when you purchase directly from the local grower. The Farmers Market offers fresh products from fruits and vegetables to meats and fish to flowers for your table and yard. You will be impressed with the ambiance of this Market and bounty shoudl be plentiful at the height of the summer season.

On Saturday, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters will be holding the Arts & Crafts Fair in Pennsylvania Park. This traditional event is fun for all ages and interests, as artists and craftsmen from around the country display and sell a huge variety of items.

Also, at dusk, in Pennsylvania Park on Friday, look for Movies in the Park - outdoor movies sponsored by the Petoskey Film Theater. Include Downtown Petoskey in your Festival schedule and shop for Treasures from the Shores to the Stores.

Big Brother Big Sisters Arts Crafts ShowArt for all tastes and pocketbooks!

A signature event of Petoskey's Festival on the Bay, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Big Arts & Crafts Show will once again take place downtown in Pennsylvania Park.

Nearly 60 artists and crafters from across Michigan will display their creative wares 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, August 21.

A wide variety of arts and crafts for all tastes and prices will be available, including garden art, painting, jewelry, stonework, pottery, homemade body products and foods like syrup and honey, quilts, totes, clothing, woodwork, glass and rustic art.

The exhibition is growing, and there's still room for more. Interested artists and crafters may download and submit a registration form, along with slides or photographs of their work, and application fee of $20, and a booth fee of $95 by July 12, 2010. Or pay an additional $20 late fee by August 19, 2010. The Arts & Craft Show Committee will begin jurying all entries and send notification of acceptance by July 19. Booth fees will be held and refunded to any artist whose work is not accepted for exhibition. Proceeds from The Big Art & Craft Show (formally organized by the Petoskey Area Jaycees) will help match at-risk children in the Petoskey area who have asked and are waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister of their own. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Michigan is the region’s longest serving youth mentoring organization and is dedicated to nurturing the emotional, social, and educational needs of children by facilitating professionally supported one-to-one mentor relationships. Sunset Cruise Tickets

Be sure to buy your tickets IN ADVANCE for Keweenaw Star one-hour sunset cruises - only $15 for adults, $7 for kids under 12, kids under 5 are free! Tickets for Friday and Saturday 8:00 p.m. cruises on sale at Petoskey Chamber office or call 347-4150. We MUST sell 50 tickets in advance for cruises to go!
